After Ngannou and Fury battled for 10 3-minute rounds, judge Ed Garner gave the bout to Ngannou with a score of 95-94. However, Alan Kerbs scored it 95-94 and Juan Carlos Pelayo scored the match 96-93 in Fury’s favor. As a result, ‘The Gypsy King’ remained undefeated with a split decision over ‘The Predator’. At this, although Ngannou remained silent during the post-fight interview, he later indirectly questioned the judges on X (formerly Twitter).

Ngannou wanted to go home with the “W”
Ngannou, who made Mike Tyson proud, declared that it was not his only mission to prove that he can box. He wanted to taste a win. “Well, that wasn’t only the mission. I really intended to come here and go home with the victory. I wanted the victory. The proof wasn’t just to like come here and box and go home. It was to win. That W is always sweet,” Ngannou said during the post-fight interview.

In this context, Ngannou explained what the night meant to him. “Tonight was about dedication, determination. Tonight was about hope. Tonight was about to prove the doubters [wrong]. To gain some belief in myself. To continue as an athlete and get my name up there,” he concluded.
