In a game with massive implications, the 4th-seeded Denver Nuggets face the 10th-seeded Golden State Warriors later tonight. However, a cloud of uncertainty hangs over Nuggets star player Jamal Murray, who’s been listed as questionable due to a shin injury. The game between the Nuggets and the Warriors has come at a time when the race for guaranteed playoff spots in the Western Conference is heating up as the 2023-24 season reaches a crucial juncture.
Only two wins separate the 1st seeded Minnesota Timberwolves from the 4th seeded Nuggets, with less than 30 regular season games remaining. Scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM ET at the Chase Center, San Francisco, tonight’s game will be a promising and fascinating affair between the Warriors and the Nuggets, both aiming for the coveted Larry O’Brien trophy.
Even though the Nuggets are much more equipped for an assault on the NBA title, the Warriors are slowly picking up pace, too. Following Denver’s 127-112 win over the Blazers, HC Michael Malone provided a concerning update on Jamal Murray’s injury. He said, “It’s shin splints. Everything he’s dealing with right now, every time he plays, it’s gonna be an issue.” The only cure for shin splints is rest, but Murray would have to power through the pain as the season enters its final phase.

Having said that, apart from likely missing Jamal Murray’s services, the franchise could be without Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who’s also been listed as questionable due to a right finger sprain. Moreover, Slovenian forward Vlatko Čančar remains sidelined for the foreseeable future after suffering an ACL injury before the start of the season.

Predicted lineups: Golden State Warriors vs Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets have remained consistent throughout the season. They have exhibited the confidence and aura of defending champions, leading many to regard them as the frontrunners to defend their title. With Nikola Jokić still delivering MVP-caliber performances daily, very few would bet against the Nuggets. They could begin the game with Reggie Jackson, Peyton Watson, Michael Porter Jr., Aaron Gordon, and Nikola Jokić.

As for the Warriors, they’re coming into the game not having won against Malone’s side since March 2022. However, having finally found their stride this season, Steve Kerr’s team is on a three-game winning streak and will be looking to avoid a series sweep against the Nuggets for a second consecutive season. They’ve listed only Chris Paul on their injury report. They could start the game with Stephen Curry, Brandin Podziemski, Andrew Wiggins, Jonathan Kuminga, and Draymond Green.
