Michael Jordan Finds Most Appropriate Shoe Possible for Inspirational Meeting With UNC Team
Different chapters of the same book. Perhaps that is how Michael Jordan felt when inviting the North Carolina team to The Grove XXIII. The two represent two sides of his life’s story. So to serve as the inspiration and a role model for the school’s golf program, the 6x NBA champion had to bring out a special sneaker from his illustrious collection. One, with some historical ties to the very college he called his own.
During his time in North Carolina, Michael would solidify himself on the national map. Thanks to the 1981 national championship and his insane dominance at the collegiate level, Jordan found his way to the NBA as the 3rd overall pick. So, when he became the phenom he is, a special shoutout to his alma mater was in order.

Michael Jordan shines in the Air Jordan 6
Perhaps more symbolic than anything, but the Air Jordan 6 first debuted in 1991, the year he won his first NBA title. Fittingly, 6 would be the number of Championships that the Chicago Bulls legend would amass in his career. But, there was a different ode to pay.
With the shoe making a return, the brand wanted to add a unique spin to it. As a result, this particular colorway was born in 2022. With a University Blue nubuck upper, white leather overlays, and navy blue shades on the liner, pull tab, and tongue, UNC Air Jordan 6 isn’t shy in boasting its proud heritage.
