Although, the film did well worldwide, it tanked majorly at the domestic box office. The movie only managed to collect a mere sum of $68.4 million, with a budget of $129 million. However, after the film made its way onto Netflix this week, it saw a fresh soar of upsurge in its viewings.
As per Netflix’s charts, Skyscraper holds No.9 on the platform’s Worldwide top 10. The film ranks behind some of the new launches, such as Extraction 2, The Out-Laws, and Run Rabbit Run. While the film majorly failed to perform at the domestic box-office back in 2018, it has racked up some huge numbers for its Netflix release.
With 4.4 million views, the film has gathered 7.5 million viewing hours in a single week. The disaster film was almost a disaster at the box-office during its initial release, but has found a new life on the OTT streaming giant. However, could its excellent performance on Netflix mean a sequel?

The majority of Dwayne Johnson’s films fail to please the critics, but turn out to be commercial giants. His career has a rich track record of being tied to franchises. On further inspection, we can see that the majority of the films are sequels or franchises.
While Red Notice failed to secure a good score on Rotten Tomatoes, its outstanding performance on Netflix demanded a sequel from it. There are several other films of The Brahma Bull of WWE that failed to impress the critics, but the numbers brought forward a sequel.
