Sami Zayn’s WWE commitment led him to visit the highly magnificent mosque in Mecca. Sami Zayn has been a part of the WWE roster since 2013. He has worked himself up from being a mere rookie in NXT to becoming a WrestleMania main-eventer. His next destination led him to the land of Saudi Arabia for the first time since WWE began working with them for major live televised events in 2018.

However, being a Muslim himself, Zayn took this opportunity to visit Masjid al-Haram, the Great Mosque of Mecca in Saudi Arabia to be in the presence of god. Moreover, he was filled with emotions just before entering the mosque in the ‘holiest city of Islam.’ His experience was posted by WWE on Twitter.

Right after offering his prayers in the traditional Islamic way, Zayn expressed his experience, describing his happiness and being grateful to have visited the holy mosque.

In the video uploaded by WWE, Zayn says, “I think it was pretty surreal to be there actually and I am still having a bit of difficulty processing all of it. I think it’s one of those things that would hit me in a day, a week, I don’t even know. I guess above all I just feel very very grateful.”

He added, “It’s put me in a lot of opportunities I don’t I ever would have had, if not for wrestling, or if for being with WWE.”

Zayn concluded his visit, by crediting wrestling and the WWE for giving him such amazing opportunities.

What could have led Sami Zayn to finally make it to Saudi Arabia?

Sami Zayn has not been a part of WWE’s major outings in Saudi Arabia. The former Honorary Uce had voluntarily not chosen to come to Saudi Arabia. Considering the severed relations between Saudi Arabia and the country of Zayn’s parents, Syria, the former Intercontinental Champion chose to stay away from the Middle East country.

However, it seems like being a fighting champion, honoring his commitment and a religious desire finally brought him to Saudi. These could potentially be the reason for him to arrive in the host country for WWE’s next Premium Live Event.
