Vliet discussed John Cena being the guy who won the world championship 16 times. To this, Cena said “So again, that’s your argument, but I was coming up. While I was there, you have people like Randy Orton who’s had a tremendous career, Batista, Edge, CM Punk, the Shield, a young Cody Rhodes who has now matured into a fantastic personality.”  He was pretty humble about it.

Cena gave special acknowledgment to Rhodes for his evolution as a wrestler. There is no doubt that Cena likes Cody Rhodes. “But the fact that they have earned every inch of their market share that they’ve now been rewarded. I guess my throughline here is nobody does it alone. I don’t exist without all the hard work of everybody else,” ended Cena

He has stated multiple times how proud he was of Rhodes for making his path in WWE and also how much he has improved over the years. It’s therefore understandable that fans would want to see The Cenation Leader pass the torch to The American Nightmare.
