Stone Cold Steve Austin Makes His Stance About Final Career Match Clear
After 19 years of retirement, Steve Austin returned to the squared circle in 2022 at WrestleMania 38. Since then, he has been on a much-expected hiatus from wrestling. Because of his injuries and advanced age, we don’t see Austin performing inside the ring often. However, according to him, he still has one final match in him before he hangs up his gear forever.
While talking to the wrestling legend, ESPN tried to ask the Texas Rattlesnake about his potential WWE return. This is when Austin said some interesting things that point toward the possibility of him coming back for one last match.

Recently, ESPN had the honor of having a chat with ‘Stone Cold’ and they brought up the topic of a potential return to the ring after his 2022 appearance at WrestleMania. Since WrestleMania 40 is drawing closer, it would make sense for the wrestler to return to WWE for one last match.

ESPN asked Austin whether he knew who would his opponent be in such a case. To this, the legend had an interesting reply for his fans to think about.
The media house noted that Austin had an idea in his head regarding his final career match. However, he didn’t want to say it out loud because of how much pressure WWE and his foe would have to endure to make it happen. But since he has given hints about his ideas, we expect the promotion to approach him with an offer soon.
In the same interview, he also hinted that he would like a match against CM Punk. This dream match was laid out by another WWE legend a few weeks ago.

While talking on his Busted Open podcast, Bully Ray talked about how he wants to see Austin against CM Punk and that would be his dream match. While talking about the same, Ray highlighted the fact that even after all these years, we still haven’t received this dream match.

Seeing the two stars wrestling against each other would be a magnificent sight for many fans.
