Well, many games were expected to be showcased at the Xbox event. What could perhaps be called a surprising showcase was Bungie and Microsoft revealing Destiny 2 for Xbox Game Pass.

Destiny 2, the free-to-play multiplayer shooter by Bungie, launched back in 2017. The game is officially making its way to the next-gen consoles and fans couldn’t be more excited.

Set in a fictional world, the game has its fair share of elements that keep it engaging. Players assume the role of Guardian, protector of Earth’s last city that is safe. They wield something termed as the ‘light’ to protect their world from alien powers.

As promised earlier by Xbox executives, Destiny 2 will be available to Game Pass subscribers, at no additional cost, in September. Not only that, but the game will also come alongside previous expansions and the new and upcoming Destiny 2: Beyond Light DLC. That was indeed a great move from Xbox and will surely help skyrocket the game’s popularity.

To add to that, a new trailer was also dropped during the event. It was heavily rumored that the snowy backdrop would bring in antagonists connected to the same. However, the trailer revealed the new subclass that is coming to the game; the Stasis. They do come with some hefty ice powers and there is a lot you can do in the environment.

Ice can be used to attack your opponents and move around quicker. Players can also shoot out something similar to an ice beam to freeze opponents to gain the higher ground. And it looks like the same mechanics can be used to build a high wall to avoid taking damage. Enemies can be scattered through once they are frozen; moreover, players can wield some ice-based weapons too.
