Hand Cannons are one of the most integral weapons in Destiny 2. For many seasons, players have been using them consistently in different PvE modes, because of their insane damage output. But during Shadowkeep, the developers at Bungie nerfed it massively by decreasing the Precision damage which denied players from one-shot killing a lot of enemies.

However, it seems like it won’t be the case in the upcoming season, as the developers are planning to implement some changes. They revealed that the Hand Cannon Precision Damage will receive a buff on the recent episode of the Firing Range Podcast, which would add these weapons back to the meta category. With only a few weeks before the end of the season, it’s the perfect time for players to farm some of the Hand Cannons in the game before the buff hits next season. These are some of the best ones to look out for in Destiny 2.

The Return of Fatebringer in Destiny 2

Fatebringer made an immense impact in the game following its return to the franchise with the Vault of Glass Raid. It has some of the best base stats from the class, and it also includes some interesting perks to try for the rolls. Perks like Explosive Payload are a must for the Fatebringer, and for the God Rolls, it should also include Frenzy or Kill Clip. Reward Rounds is also a good shout and fans can use that as well for some powerful rolls.

Ikelos_HC_V.1.0.2, the Hand Cannon that spawns Warmind Cells

The Ikelos Hand Cannon is one of the most intriguing weapons from this weapons category. It’s part of the Precision Frame Archetype and it’s the only Hand Cannon other than the Seventh Seraph Officer Revolver that can spawn Warmind Cells. It’s a much better weapon choice compared to the Seventh Seraph because it has the Rampage Perk which improves the damage output. This makes sense with the Ikelos, as it has a large magazine, and the damage bonus definitely helps a lot.

Dire Promise with the Overflow perk

The Dire Promise used to be the king of the PvP meta but its usage decreased a lot after Bungie nerfed the weapon from a 150 RPM Hand Cannon to a 140 RPM variant. However, it also has one of the most overpowering God Rolls from the class. The God Roll included perks like Overflow and Swashbuckler. With an Extended Mag, Overflow allowed players to use 28 rounds in the magazine sometimes which is insane in a PvE environment.

Posterity with the Reconstruction Trait

Posterity isn’t one of the most popular weapon picks from this class. But this weapon might be the best Hand Cannon in the game following the upcoming Precision Damage buff because of the Reconstruction trait. With this amazing perk and an Extended Mag, players can get around 35 rounds in their magazine, which makes it quite powerful. So with the damage boost and the huge magazine, players can go on a spree killing enemies in PvE modes.

Palindrome with Destiny 2 Adept mods

The Palindrome is an older Nightfall weapon, so it isn’t dropping now in the game, but the developers of Destiny 2 implied that it will return later this season. It also has some pretty hard-hitting God Rolls which include perks like Overflow and One For All. Along with that, it is an Adept variant, so players can add mods to it, and improve its abilities. Plus, it has pretty great base stats, so it doesn’t absolutely require a God Roll like other Hand Cannons.

With the upcoming Damage improvements, a lot of players will use the Hand Cannon class again in PvE modes. It will be interesting to see the full details about the buffs, but it seems like Hand Cannons might become popular again in Destiny 2.
