Twitch has dominated the live streaming industry since its start. However, the Amazon-backed platform has started to get some competition from other emerging platforms like Rumble and Kick; with the latter completely disrupting its reign. Kick has successfully poached prominent streamers like xQc and Amouranth to join.
While both of them got a lucrative deal to join, they both consider the freedom offered as the main motivating factor. However, this has also sparked the debate on what is an acceptable level of freedom for a streamer. This debate boiled over to the topic of gambling on stream, with two big names in the industry sharing conflicting views.

In a statement to NBC News, HasanAbi reaffirmed his take, stating, “Creators have even more responsibility to conduct themselves a certain way.” He further went on to state when a brand gives content creators their money, they expect something in return. “And the return on that investment for gambling is that your audience is going to gamble,” he said.
By giving out this statement, HasanAbi has spoken in favor of his platform Twitch, which does not support gambling streams. HasanAbi also claimed an offer of half a million dollars was given to play poker on stream, which he actively declined.

On the other hand, Kick openly accepts gambling streams, with an option to toggle the visibility of those streams on or off. While HasanAbi claims if a streamer gambles, his audience is bound to follow, Amouranth believes otherwise. “It doesn’t make sense to hold individual creators responsible for the business model decision outside of their privy,” she said.
