Amid Glaring Economic Challenges, Xbox Boss Relieves Fans With a Major Promise

The world is finally back to normal after two years of lockdown because of the global pandemic. But the impact of those two years is still not gone, as most countries and businesses are facing severe economic challenges. Further, the pandemic also hugely affected the video game companies like PlayStation and Xbox.

The global pandemic forced many game developers to delay working on multiple game projects. Further, the economically challenged period also forced Sony to increase the price of their PlayStation consoles. Amidst all these challenges, Xbox claimed not to raise prices for their consoles this year.

Xbox won’t raise console prices despite the challenges

There has been a massive boost in the growth of the gaming community. As a result, more people want to buy consoles. However, the current economic conditions and console demands led Sony PlayStation prices to skyrocket. The Japanese multinational raised prices for both PlayStation 4 and 5.

The gamers speculated Xbox to do the same with their two latest consoles, Series X and S. However, Xbox chief Phil Spencer silenced all those speculations with a noteworthy price update. He said, In a time when our customers are more economically challenged and uncertain than ever, we don’t think it’s the right move for us to raise prices on our consoles.”

Spencer even shared that the Xbox Series S has the best sales among the two consoles. Currently, the Xbox Series X costs $500, while the counterpart Series S comes with a $300 price tag. Undoubtedly, the American multinational company is trying its best to please its fans amidst these economically tiring conditions.

Seeing the current gaming market, PlayStation and Nintendo are currently dominating the gaming market. But seeing Microsoft’s latest steps for the Xbox’s growth, the future for the American giant seems bright. Last year, Microsoft acquired the famous Bethesda Studios, the creators of The Elder Scrolls.

Microsoft and the game studio are working on some significant video game projects for the future. Further, the Xbox chief shared having conversations with many talented Asian developers to work for them. Additionally, The American giants are also working on improving their Game Pass as they added two Sony exclusives, Death Standing and Deathloop, this year.
