Microsoft is currently doing its best to convince everyone why it would be okay if they get to buy Activision Blizzard King. Sony has been claiming that they are against this deal because they think Microsoft would limit this billion-dollar franchise to Xbox consoles.

But Microsoft refuted this by revealing that they offered to keep Call of Duty games on PlayStation for the coming 10 years. This was their response to claims that Microsoft buying Activision Blizzard would be bad for competition in the gaming industry. And they have also put the same deal forward for the Japanese giants as well.

Microsoft commits to bringing Call of Duty to Nintendo systems for the next 10 years

Amidst all this debacle, Microsoft’s Phil Spencer has revealed on Twitter that they are now officially committed to bringing Call of Duty to Nintendo’s platforms. Be it Switch or any other upcoming console.

He specifically said “Microsoft has entered into a 10-year commitment to bring Call of Duty to @Nintendo following the merger of Microsoft and Activision Blizzard King. Microsoft is committed to helping bring more games to more people – however they choose to play.”

In another tweet Brad Smith, Vice Chairman of Microsoft also said that they are also ready to pen a similar deal with Sony and PlayStation, He said “Any day @Sony wants to sit down and talk, we’ll be happy to hammer out a 10-year deal for PlayStation as well.”

They also previously said their main motive to buy Activision is to expand their reach in mobile gaming and also add games to their Xbox Game Pass subscription.

This is not the first time Nintendo is getting Call of Duty

Microsoft has announced that they would bring Call of Duty to Nintendo systems for 10 years. But Nintendo gamers are not strangers to the Call of Duty franchise. There was a time when every installment in the series got a port on Nintendo’s DS series of handhelds. That too with complete multiplayer support. Even Nintendo Wii U got its own version of Call of Duty Black Ops 2 and Call of Duty Ghosts.

If Call of Duty comes to Nintendo Switch or Switch 2, it is expected to be a more feature-complete version. Given the HD nature of Nintendo’s newer consoles, fans can expect to enjoy full-fledged Call of Duty multiplayer on the go soon.
