Fans everywhere were panicking about very strange news; they were informed that the upcoming Nintendo Switch port of looter shooter Borderlands 3 would be 62GB in size. Now that’s a very unusual size for a Nintendo Switch game. Games on this console are usually significantly smaller than their normal counterparts. Given their lack of higher visual fidelity. So devs shared an update, much to the relief of the fans.

The developers of Borderlands 3 Switch put an end to this panic by informing gamers that this game is not as big as previously reported. They confirmed the game size is actually much smaller. They reportedly split the base game and DLC.

Their X post specifically mentioned, “We’re seeing technically incorrect reports that Borderlands 3 Ultimate Edition file size on Switch is 62 GB. The actual file size is 23.5 GB. We had to submit a file size at packaging time but kept working to optimize it.”

This implies the developers were still working on it when they were asked for the size of the store page. And this caused a lot of concern. It’s good, though, that fans will now be able to download Borderlands 3 without having to worry about the size of their Nintendo Switch memory card.
