UPDATE:
500 hours is related to maxing out the game – finishing all the quests, endings, and exploring every part of the world, but a regular player should finish the story + side quests and do quite a lot of exploring in less than 100 hours, so don't worry! 🥰 https://t.co/4R641zkLpg— Dying Light (@DyingLightGame) January 8, 2022

According to the creators of the game, Dying Light 2 Stay Human’s 500 hours of playtime is for 100% completion of the game. And that includes every quest and side quest in the game. Additionally, the 500 hours will only be required if wish to explore every corner of the post-apocalyptic zombie world and all possible endings that the title offers.
As for players who wish to not deviate from the mainline story and explore a bit from time to time, they’ll be looking to spend a little less than 100 hours. Of course, speedrunners of such games are a different class altogether and don’t need a minimum timeframe.
