Epic Games is doing all it can to stay on top of the gaming pyramid. The Fortnite developers are also one of the biggest game stores in the world. With a ton of third-party developers often alleging that publishers tend to retain most of the sales revenues, Epic has come up with a way to give back to the developers. The “Now on Epic” program has been launched and third-party devs may be looking to reap a lot of benefits from added incentives.

With the ongoing restructuring at Epic, things aren’t looking too good in terms of profit generation for the brand. The newly launched program might thus be the way for the publishers to get back on track and hand out more revenues to the stakeholders in the process.

Epic Games has launched a new incentive program called “Now on Epic” to encourage more developers to bring their back catalog to the Epic Games Store. The program focuses on bringing more diversity to the platform and making it compete with prominent industry giants. In order to be part of the program, developers need to make sure they can release at least three games on the Epic Store before October 31st.

By being part of the “Now on Epic” scheme, devs can generate profits of up to 88%-100% after the first six months of releasing their games on the store. After this period, the profit share will fall back to 88%-12%. The games released on the Epic Store also must be available on third-party PC stores and through other subscription services.

The digital gaming market is changing rapidly and Epic looks to bring more comrades under the fold, thereby increasing its offerings significantly. By releasing their older games on the Epic Store, devs can reach out to a wider audience and allow their back catalog a second chance to make a significant impact on the community.

The new incentive program comes at a time when Epic Games is being rocked by restructuring. The company has recently laid off a large number of employees. Epic acquired Bandcamp last year but has now decided to sell the music streaming platform to music licensing company Songtradr.

With Epic Games experiencing serious dents to its profit generation, the Now on Epic program looks to make things somewhat brighter for the brand. While Fortnite continues to be a hit among fans, the new incentive scheme might be just the thing to turn the winds in Epic’s favor.
