Changes to the map

New seasons in Fortnite mean events that bring changes to the map. Season 3 will be no different, with changes and events coming to the Battle Royale’s map.

Dataminers looking through the game files found information about map changes. Season 3 is set to include a new biome, based on a desert or a jungle theme. This will include new environmental objects, such as palm trees, mud, and cacti. It is in line with leaks about a tropical biome coming to the game. There are also rumors of a volcanic area coming to the game.

Apart from this, methods of moving around in-game may change. Grind rails seen in-game will most likely change to wood wines. Given the speculation about a jungle environment, it certainly fits with the overall theme.

Lastly, as summer rolls around, Fortnite looks like it will bring back its summer events. The 14 Days of Summer events: “Propping” & “Mural” will be a part of season 3. The Propping event is thought to be some sort of hide-and-seek event. Players will be able to participate in these events, earning rewards for completing tasks! An exciting time to be a part of Fortnite!

Changes to equipment and more

The Mythic Drum Shotgun is coming to Fortnite. The weapon will be a popular choice in the Zero-Build version. A mythic variant of the gun will bring a new side to the current meta! In addition to this, the popular Infantry Rifle will make a comeback in the game.

When looking through game files, dataminers discovered the Raptors rideable in the next season. As fans of the game may know, players can ride the wildlife in the game. In addition to these Raptors being rideable, players will be able to do so for a limited time, since these Raptors will feature limited stamina. Sound cues will signal players that their Raptor is low on stamina.

Fortnite continues to surprise fans. A rumored competitive racing mode is making rounds in the gaming community. Codenamed DelMar, the mode will have a casual and competitive playlist. It will split player rankings across 18 levels. Additionally, speculation of a garage to customize vehicles is making rounds. Players would access this through Fortnite’s main menu. However, no release date is provided for the racing mode. Fans hope for its inclusion in the season 3 update for Chapter 4.
