A new report sprung up yesterday that points to a hard time for hackers looking to manipulate Fortnite files from now. As it happens, Epic Games has implemented a third layer of protection to protect the game’s integrity. Moreover, further reports indicate that the new anti-cheat is already pulling out a lot of cheaters from the game.

Fortnite, being a free-to-play battle-royale title, attracts a huge number of cheaters. The cheat kinds range from aimbots to ESP mods that break the game’s mechanics to provide hackers an unfair advantage. As obvious as it is, hacking or cheating destroys the essence of Fortnite or any game for normal players.

What is the new anti-cheat in Fortnite called?

Even though Fortnite already had BattlEye and EasyAntiCheat to tackle the cheating problem, the two of them weren’t enough to stop every hacker. As a result, Epic Games added another shield of the name Hyperion for an extra layer of security.

HyperX, a notable Fortnite informant, announced the news first. He also mentioned how Hyperion may have stopped in-game leaks from happening.

Hyperion is a product of Byfron, a company specializing in anti-cheat software for games. Although not as commonly used as the BattlEye or EAC, Hyperion’s system will be bringing a new level of security to Fortnite’s plate.

Hyperion will stop cheaters and leakers for a long time

As fans know, Fortnite’s competitive ladder is crawling with cheaters, causing an incredible amount of nuisance to players who want to grind their way up to the top.

Big-brain intruders have already found a way to break through the EAC-BattlEye combo, rendering the anti-cheat system in Fortnite useless in most cases. In addition, Fortnite has a ‘leaking’ problem where data miners can easily break into hidden files and figure out information way ahead of what was intended.

With Hyperion coming into the picture, Fortnite hackers shouldn’t be able to reverse engineer and find a way to crack the in-game code.

In fact, Hyperion will also block all third-party application usage, including location spoofers and controller mappers. Hence, it will not only be difficult for cheaters but also for leakers to dig into hidden in-game files.

A Twitter account also posted several proofs of the rampage that Hyperion has caused in Fortnite’s cheating market.

Is Hyperion’s fury going to remain forever? Most probably, no. But, it will definitely have a long-lasting effect on leakers and cheaters until someone clever figures out how to bypass the system.

On the other hand, fans are pretty ecstatic about the new anti-cheat and the plight of all intruders right now.

One fan wanted Rockstar Games to implement the same in GTA Online and Read Dead Online.
