Gamers Catch Microsoft Raising the Prices of Activision Titles Like Call of Duty on Steam

Microsoft is having the best time of the year. And why that wouldn’t be? After a lot of turmoil, Microsoft successfully finalized their $69 billion deal to take over Call of Duty maker, Activision Blizzard. And now Xbox boss is all set to make revolutionary projects with the help of talented Activision professionals. However, the recent changes after this acquisition are already visible and the fan does not seem very happy about it.

While fans seemed excited to see more amazing projects from this collaboration, they noticed a price hike in the Activision titles. While there are disappointments, fans think this might be a hint of Microsoft finally dropping these Activision games on Xbox Game Pass. 

What are the Activision games that faced a price hike?

While the price hike of Activision titles is confirmed, it is mainly on the Steam stores based in Brazil and Turkey. Here is the list of games and their new prices:

  • Call of Duty (2003) – Previously it was $34.90. Now the price is $91.90
  • Call of Duty 2 – From $34.90 to now it is $91.90
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops – The previous price was $79.99 and the recent price is $184.00;
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops II – Previously it was $109.90. Now the price is $274.00;
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) – From $34.99 to now priced at $91.90;
  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) – Previously it was $249.00 and now it is $274.00;
  • Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice – The previous price was $199.00 and the new price is $274.00;
  • Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time – From $179.00 to currently priced at $184.00;
  • Spyro Reignited Trilogy – The previous price was $150.00 and the current price is $184.00;
  • Prototype – From $34.99 to now priced at $91.90;
  • Prototype 2 – The old price was $79.99 and the new price is $184.00.

Now that Brazil’s Steam store revealed such a great hike in Activision’s titles, fans are curious to know whether this change will follow other platforms such as PS, Xbox, and Nintendo.

Xbox aims to expand its Game Pass ecosystem with Activision

After successfully acquiring Activision Blizzard, Phil Spencer extended a warm welcome to the new teammates. In fact, Spencer spoke about how this inclusion will make the Xbox Game Pass ecosystem more rich for the fans.
