Hot Tub Streamer Amouranth Might Cost Amazon-Owned Company Twitch “Ad Revenue” In Long Run Due To This Reason

Streaming has been a coveted profession in today’s developing world. Recently, streaming culture has become captivating in the community. As it serves as a medium through which, people can connect to their favorite personalities and be a part of a larger community. However, the popular Twitch streamer, Amouranth, once highlighted something that could disturb the platform’s ‘ad revenue.’

Kaitlyn Michelle Siragusa, also known as Amouranth on the internet, is a popular streamer. She is seen streaming under the categories of Just Chatting, ASMR, and hot tub streams on Amazon-owned company, Twitch. And once she had brought forward a point regarding the hot tub meta.

Twitch streamer Amouranth had an insight about a genre of streaming

To clarify, the hot tub stream is a genre that is adopted by streamers on the platform Twitch. Wherein the streamer interacts with the viewers while wearing a bikini. And Amouranth is an active participant in the genre.

Furthermore, she has also explored other genres like ASMR, and Just Chatting. And had been awarded the Best ASMR Streamer Award. However, during an April stream, she reflected on how the ‘hot-tub meta’ could be financially hindering Twitch’s ‘ad revenue’, in the long run.  And she did this at a time when she was a renowned streamer under the respective category.

As per Looper, apparently, it was suggested that advertisers would refrain from promoting their products through the genre. Subsequently, affecting the ‘ad revenue’ generated by the platform. Moreover, to give a background insight, Looper reported, “To add some ironic icing to this streaming cake, Amouranth expressed her opinion while literally in the middle of a hot tub stream — and while riding an inflatable banana, no less.”

Therefore, one is left to guess if Amouranth had judged the future correctly. However, eventually, something hindering traced back to her streaming career. Albeit, this made her concur a loss for her channel.

This step by Twitch had made this ASMR streamer really upset

After Amouranth voiced her opinion, a development took place around her channel in May 2021. On May 18, 2021, she tweeted, “Yesterday I was informed that Twitch has Indefinitely Suspended Advertising on my channel. Twitch didn’t reach out in any way whatsoever. I had to initiate the conversation after noticing, without any prior warning, all the ads revenue had disappeared from my Channel Analytics.”

Moreover, the ASMR streamer, ended up losing half a million dollars in annual ad revenue. She voiced her opinions on the Twitter thread and highlighted the points that she found objectionable. Thus, only the future will reveal how things will pan out for the platform and its streamers.
