God of War: Ragnarok is one of the biggest releases last year, bagging several awards last year. This PlayStation exclusive was the talk of the gaming community besides other “Game of the Year” winner Elden Rings. There was a lot of hype around this game and one of the reasons was that it answered many questions from the 2018-released prequel.
God of War (2018) was also a magnificent game, and it was unlike any other past games from this series. It won’t be wrong to say that 2018 gave a small reboot to the God of War series. We got introduced to Norse mythology instead of the classic Greek. However, the biggest talk of the town was Kratos becoming a father once again to Atreus.
Atreus was Kratos’s son with a Jötunn warrior named Faye. Both the latest God of War games revolved around the adventures of Kratos and Atreus. Fans liked the innocence and naiveness of Kratos’s young son in the first game. However, the actor who lent his voice and mo-capped Atreus, Sunny Suljic, doesn’t have the same thoughts.

The 17-year-old revealed that he never got to see any character design for Atreus, and it was completely built around his face. However, Suljic made a major revelation, “Personally, I wasn’t the biggest fan of my performance in 2018. I don’t know, I think I’m just like, my biggest critic. If I hear myself over, especially with the higher-pitched voice, me screaming and everything.”

Suljic later clarified that it wasn’t horrible. He was instead embarrassed to look at his old work. “I don’t think the performance was horrible. It’s kind of like watching an old, embarrassing video of you when you’re younger.” But despite the embarrassment, he still watched his old performance to prepare for playing an older Atreus in the latest Ragnarok.
