Also, the existing market agreement between the COD publisher and PlayStation hasn’t expired yet. It’s the most crucial reason why Activision can’t simply bring Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III on the Game Pass subscription service day one.

So, the answer is no. It won’t be on Xbox game pass. As of now, we can’t expect to see a new COD on Microsoft’s service until 2025.

In short, Game Pass subscribers can only get a brand new Call of Duty when the current agreement between Sony and Activision expires. Not to mention that the $68.7 billion proposed acquisition of the publisher needs to close too.

What to expect from Modern Warfare III upon release?

Meanwhile, gaming fans and hardcore COD lovers are just eager to try out the new installment. It’s going to pack a heavy punch in terms of offering unique and captivating content. In case anyone missed keeping track of details, it will be the first Modern Warfare title to feature Zombies. Players will witness them in an open world mode. It will follow a PvE format where the users will have to team up together in order to fight hordes of the undead. Furthermore, MWIII will also bring a new feature called Carry Forward. It will enable the players to continue using their purchased bundles and cosmetics from the current game. Oh, and there are various remastered maps coming back as well. Based on 2009’s Modern Warfare 2, they will give a nostalgic feeling to those who have grown up enjoying classic COD entries.

In terms of story, the game will continue the Campaign of MWII from last year. This time, however, the members of Task Force 141 will have to go against a returning villain in Vladimir Makarov. Plus, the single-player mode will introduce open-combat missions too.
