In the trailer of the game, we see that Peter Parker gets the symbiote suit in the game. But when it comes to who is the main villain in the game, it seems no one knows who it is yet. While there are speculations, it will only be confirmed on the game’s launch.

Everything hints Harry Osborn to play Venom in Spider-Man 2

THE INDUSTRY BABY, a reliable source of Spider-Man leaks recently hinted that Harry Osborn will be Venom in the new game. While this has been a common speculation, there are other factors that make people believe this is true. During the 2021 PlayStation Showcase, Insomniac confirmed that Peter Parker and Miles Morales would face Venom. Venom is the primary antagonist in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 alongside Kraven the Hunter. However, the identity of Venom’s human host remained a mystery, despite fans strongly believing it to be Harry Osborn.

Insomniac unveiled new footage that strongly suggests Harry Osborn is Venom in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 at The Game Awards 10-Year Concert. This ignited speculation and excitement among fans. In a cutscene at the end of the first Marvel Spider-Man game, Norman Osborn is seen walking into a secret lab where Harry is kept in an incubator with the Symbiote. At the end of Marvel’s Spider-Man & Miles Morales, there is another cut scene of Harry. In this cutscene, players get to see the game from Harry’s POV while being in the incubator tank. This implies his significant role in the upcoming game.

Director Bryan Intihar of Spider-Man 2 lent further support to this theory by explicitly stating that Eddie Brock would not be part of the game. The Game Awards 10-Year Concert featured a video showcasing the main theme for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This pushed the notion that Harry Osborn might be Venom, though it didn’t offer outright confirmation.
