Being in the works for a long time, Rockstar finally announced the Red Dead Redemption port. The return to the Wild West, to John Marston and his gun-slinging exploits. Red Dead Redemption was a special game, however, the port was not well received. With a massive price tag attached, it seems the price point has come into question again, as fans viewed a new deal on the Xbox store.

After one fan posted an image showing the deal on the Xbox store, responses poured in, with people not believing what they saw. Rockstar was already in hot water with the price for the first game’s port. Following this, outrage among fans went to a whole new level.

This is not the first time Rockstar came under fire for pricing Red Dead Redemption too high. Only a little while ago, fans were outraged to see the prices the first game’s port was listed for.

One saving grace for fans with this deal is the in-game content offered. The deal offers DLC for the game, that is the Undead Nightmares expansion. Along with it, there are in-game redeemable items included in the offer. However, fans remain puzzled about how it compensates for the $100 tag.

Fans shocked at the $100 price tag

One fan remarked about the image Rockstar used as part of the title. Showing John Marston and Arthur Morgan holding guns to the camera, fans feel as if Rockstar is making them pay $100 for both games at gunpoint. It becomes even funnier once you realize these stick-ups are a routine part of the Wild West.

One fan provided an alternative to these prices. Instead of paying such a big amount for the two games, fans can simply enjoy other Rockstar titles on the PlayStation 5. This means paying for hit titles such as Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas instead. The user also reminds people that while these remakes might sustain Rockstar Games, it saw them lose their dedication to the craft.

What seems to be frustrating fans the most is the price tag not justifying a port. Most fans feel if Rockstar worked on a full remaster for Red Dead Redemption, they would still find the high price tag justified. However, a majority find it overpriced for a port.

Additionally, a big part of the problem comes from the lack of consistent pricing from Rockstar. One user posted a picture of the deal priced at $23, after being converted from the local currency. It prompted the question of why Rockstar does not offer a single price across all regions.
