Kick is gradually coming out as the real winner from the Twitch drama. The purple platform refuses to back down on some of its proposed policy changes, leading to streamers leaving in flocks to other platforms. xQc, one of the biggest stars of Twitch, has signed a deal with Kick for an alleged $100 million. Before all of the mass migrations, YouTuber Adin Ross was among the first to go over to the upcoming streaming platform and create ripples across the community.

However, Ross’ antics on live streaming have made him quite a controversial name. In a recent interview, Edward Craven “Eddie”, Kick’s CEO, talked about Adin Ross coming over to his platform and how he felt that makes Kick look to the community.

Is Adin Ross a “liability”?

Eddie, Kick’s CEO, was interviewed in a YouTube video and was asked if Adin Ross is a “Brand Risk” for the platform. As a response, Eddie said Kick tries to ensure freedom of speech, and content creators are entitled to their views similar to the members of the community. Eddie accepted that Ross’ statements may always not be proper, but he also highlighted that every streamer on Kick carries a risk factor with them.

Eddie also says that Adin was there from the beginning and that Kick owed him quite a lot. Eddies said Ross was “the first person to move over that really started to make waves“. Eddie further said sometimes communication can be an issue, but together they try to find the best solutions to everything. He also said Kick tries not to push inappropriate content and tries to ensure a great space for the community.

The reason behind streamers leaving Twitch

Twitch announced a plethora of policy changes earlier this year. Many streamers slammed the proposed changes as restrictive for content creators. Facing severe backlash from the entire community, the Amazon-owned platform revoked multiple proposed policies. However, many were not and were soon to be implemented. As a protest, many of the most followed streamers have started leaving Twitch and moving on to other streaming mediums.

Adin Ross moved over to Kick in early 2023, leaving Twitch behind. His opinions and statements have brought community backlash multiple times. Under such circumstances, Kick faced questions about making Ross a part of the platform.

The community now looks to Adin Ross and expects him to give a response during his upcoming streams.
