Yesterday’s Switch ‘Special Edition’ announcement from Nintendo disappointed many while delighting several Splatoon fans. As it happens, many were expecting Nintendo to drop a new Switch model, following wild rumors that claimed the same. However, it turned out to be a Splatoon 3 themed Nintendo OLED instead.
Did it end the never-ending rumor of Nintendo bringing a Switch Pro or a Switch 2? Not at all! Soon after the Splatoon 3 edition announcement happened, fans located another source to feed their anticipations.

The source reportedly originated from a Chinese forum. It claimed that a new Switch model is on the way. In fact, Nintendo may reveal the new Switch as early as September this year, according to the leaker. After a tiring day of broken dreams, fans found new hope in the Chinese leaker’s words, thus fueling another round of speculations.

According to a fan on a reputed forum, Resetera, a Chinese leaker had correctly predicted the arrival of a Splatoon 3 themed Switch, hours before the actual announcement. He had also revealed the exact time of the announcement, which turned out to be true.

All it takes is a correct speculation to believe a leaker, and hence, every Nintendo fan in the community regained their hopes. Apparently, the same Chinese leaker also speculated Nintendo’s plans of revealing a new Switch model in September. Moreover, the leak surrounding the new Switch model and the special edition OLED model was first given out by another leaker on the same Chinese forum back in April. This leaker is apparently a factory worker who knows what he’s talking about. The whole situation is quite confusing, but you can watch a video from SwitchForce to clear it up!

Nintendo fans have always been subjected to hundreds of leaks. Hence, it’s quite difficult to make out what’s right and what’s not. The speculations surrounding the next Switch model have been changing colors every month, with fans facing disappointment every now and then.
