PewDiePie Reveals Why He Went Back on His Two-Year-Old Vow to 111 Million People – “I Haven’t Always Been Perfect..”

PewDiePie has created many records on the platform, eventually becoming the first content creator with over 100 million subscribers. It’s hard to imagine that he would quit making YouTube videos. However, he recently opened up about once thinking of leaving YouTube.

The Swedish content creator moved to Japan earlier this year with his wife. Since then, PewDiePie hasn’t been uploading videos regularly. Instead, it takes weeks for a PewDiePie video to come. As a result, many fans were disappointed, and some even asked him to quit YouTube.

Why didn’t PewDiePie leave YouTube?

PewDiePie recently released a new video on his channel where he answered why he wouldn’t be doing so anytime soon. However, the 32-year-old once decided to quit YouTube two years ago and opened up about it in the latest video.

The 32-years-old shared his reasons for wanting to leave the platform, “Two years ago, when I decided I was gonna quit, it was because I had gone through so much drama at the time, and you know. I haven’t always been perfect, but I do feel like I’ve gone through a lot of scrutinies as well, and the negative would just outweigh the good at that point.”

Undoubtedly, him leaving the platform would have been shocking news for his fans and the entire YouTube community. However, he never quit and still makes videos on the platform for his supportive fans and friends. He added, “But it didn’t feel right to quit just because of other people, especially when so many people were still being so supportive.”

Going back to the good old ways

The 32-year-old also mentioned how he started the channel to have fun and not to become a big YouTuber. But after becoming successful, he felt forced to explore different content to grow his numbers. However, he has now stopped pursuing numbers and staying away from controversies.

Pewds further shared that returning to his older ways has helped him enjoy YouTube again. This change also helped him realize that he doesn’t want to quit YouTube. He said, “Why should I quit? It’s my dream, after all, to do YouTube. I’ve worked so hard for this.”
