This summer, PlayStation is acquiring its 14th Studio and third season after purchasing UK-based developers Firesprite.
This acquisition rather came as a surprise, given the scale of the team. The Firesprite team totals 250 employees, which is larger than PlayStation’s other two UK-based studios- Media Molecule and London Studio combined.
Firesprite is a Liverpool-based studio founded in 2012 and has collaborated with PlayStation on several occasions. The acquisition of Firesprite might mean there is a high chance PlayStation’s next-gen VR program might get a major boost.
