The first battle that requires players to use their ride Pokemon allegedly faces a game crash. A plausible reason users have figured out behind the issue is having Scarlet and Violet labeled in the player’s Pokedex before the beginning of the battle.

When the aforementioned conditions are met, the game will crash if players move their party selection over the fourth, fifth, or sixth Pokemon in their party in an attempt to reach their ride Pokemon. Having just three Pokemon in a player’s party will prevent this, as will pressing up from the first-party Pokemon to the ride Pokemon.
Game Freak to address the issue in the next patch update?
The second DLC of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet now seems to be much closer than anticipated. This is based on how players received the first DLC. The Indigo Disk DLC was supposed to release sometime between October and December of this year, according to earlier hints from the devs.

Now, with the trending bug reports, developers will have to look into the issue. Hopefully, they will address the issue in the next patch update expectedly planned around the launch of Indigo Disk. This means a second patch fixing isn’t too far from implementation either. If the rumors are to be trusted, the next patch will launch anytime this month for the game.
