Moreover, the introduction of Project Q marks the arrival of a dedicated device to stream PlayStation 5 games. With the last generation, the PlayStation Vita allowed users to stream games but featured a limited scope of doing so.

The launch of this new handheld console will be a new front for Sony to compete in. There are existing handheld consoles such as the Nintendo Switch and the Steam Deck, as well as the imminent arrival of Nintendo Switch 2.

Alongside the announcement of these devices, the event featured numerous games being announced, with the arrival of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 being the highlight of the event.
