Sony’s PlayStation 5 is a very powerful console; it supports ray tracing, and for some games, it even supports 8K resolution, and that’s not something to scoff about.

These features sound good and all, but the problem here is that this console does not have many games that use them. Many of the games that have been released on it have been pretty underwhelming.

Only a few games like Demon Souls, Ratchet, and Clank: Rift Apart, and the two Spider-Man games showed the graphical prowess of this console. The console is still waiting for more such games, but it appears Sony is already preparing a more powerful version of this console.

A recent Insider Gaming report suggests that the PlayStation 5 Pro is in the works, and Sony has the plan to launch it sometime in 2024. If true, the PlayStation 5 owners would not like the fact that their console is being sidelined even before showing its true capabilities.

It was also reported that this would be just one of many hardware revisions PlayStation fans would see. This must mean fans will start seeing slim models and such in the coming years. Let us not forget the PlayStation 5 console with a detachable disc drive.

How powerful would that Pro console be? Some say it would have at least 2x the power of the PlayStation 5. This means gamers can expect to play games at full 4K at 60 FPS. This would not be so bad if Sony managed it somehow.
