It seems like players can actually get Modern Warfare 3 for free this month. Yes, they won’t have to spend anything to own the game, going by a recently revealed PS5 Slim update. The revamped console is expected to go live for orders during the time of MW3’s launch. As it appears, obtaining it will ensure a free copy of the FPS title. Following the rumors of a different PlayStation 5, Sony had confirmed such a model last month. After that, there were speculations floating on the internet regarding a special bundle featuring PS5 Slim and Modern Warfare 3. Now going by a recently revealed information by media outlet CharlieIntel, it’s been confirmed as well.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will arrive with PS5 Slim and it will be free. Simply put, players won’t have to spend their $70 on the game. However, they will have to spend $499 on the Disc Edition of PlayStation 5 Slim. Basically, they have to just lose their pocket on the console and not the premium game itself.

For the uninitiated, a special Operator named Lockpick will be available for free in the game after launch. She will appear in the Operator menu once the game goes live.

Going by her name itself, the Operator appears to be a huge lockpicker. As of now, there’s not much information available in relation to this PlayStation-only character. Hopefully, the devs will unleash certain updates about the rest of her Operator bundle, if there’s one.

What’s interesting to note is that the release of Lockpick is the last time players will see a platform-exclusive content for a new Call of Duty. This tradition will end from next year. It’s because Activision is now owned by Microsoft. Also, Xbox boss Phil Spencer has already confirmed that there won’t be any special favor given to a certain console in the future. Everyone will receive the same content on all the devices from 2024 onwards.
