Nintendo Switch 2 might be on the horizon for all we know, and this upcoming console would surely feature an upgraded chip. Some say they are sure it is a secret chip that Nvidia worked on a while ago. While the console might get the ability to run games in either 1440p or 4K, and it might even come with a ray tracing chip, what of the user interface? Ever since its launch, Switch has featured only two choices in the themes section: dark and light.

Some even say that the Nintendo 3DS has more customization than the Switch. So, here are some 3DS features that we would love to see on the Nintendo Switch 2

Nintendo 3DS was a very vibrant console; it by default featured menu music, and eventually, fans even got the option to change themes on this console. Those themes ranged from basic color-based ones to others based on popular games.

Fans even started introducing their own custom themes for this console. It would be fun to see something similar make its way to the Switch.

StreetPass

StreetPass was a very interesting feature of Nintendo 3DS; it gave users rewards just for walking by other people who owned 3Ds. Those were mostly minute in-game rewards, yet they were an interesting bonus just for carrying your device around with you.

StreetPass as a feature is more relevant now than it was before, as Nintendo Switch has a larger user base and fans would be able to gain more from it than 3DS users did years ago.

Picture and Sound Editing

3Ds allowed players to take an image or record audio and edit them on their console. Many used this feature to its full extent, and it quickly became a very exciting way of creating funky wallpapers. Now that Nintendo Switch does not have a camera, we do not know if the sequel would have one either.

Game Notes

Nintendo 3DS was the ultimate gamer’s console; it even allowed players to take notes on it. Imagine, you are on a quest, you see something, but you want to complete that quest first, so you just pause your game, take a note, and come back to it later!

The Nintendo Switch has games that are huge when compared to those on 3DS, yet it lacks this feature. There is a notes app available for purchase, but why not make it part of that economy?

Cover Plates

Yep, there are third-party back panels available for this console, and there are a number of special edition consoles too. But what of the freedom to be able to hot-swap those things the moment we feel like it?
