The latest-gen PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch are hands-down the best consoles ever to play games on. Their powerful hardware, along with their lightweight features, makes them completely superior to their earlier counterparts. But earlier-gen legendary consoles have something that the PS5 and Switch cannot replicate even if they tried to.

The senior TV anchor Jon Erlichman shared a Tweet about PlayStation 1 in the wake of Sony’s anniversary on May 7. This Tweet sparked a debate in ResetEra on the topic of which earlier-gen console had the best boot-up sequence.

The debate was started by AuthenticM who argued the PS1 had the best boot-up sequence. He talked in favor of the console released in 1994, stating, “It’s just so… powerful and entrancing?
