The latest-gen PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch are hands-down the best consoles ever to play games on. Their powerful hardware, along with their lightweight features, makes them completely superior to their earlier counterparts. But earlier-gen legendary consoles have something that the PS5 and Switch cannot replicate even if they tried to.
That is the power of nostalgia. These older consoles are part of the childhood of many gamers. Many started their gaming journey with the likes of GameCube and PlayStation 1. This was evident with fans voting in favor of these older consoles.
Legendary consoles emerge victorious in a debate

The senior TV anchor Jon Erlichman shared a Tweet about PlayStation 1 in the wake of Sony’s anniversary on May 7. This Tweet sparked a debate in ResetEra on the topic of which earlier-gen console had the best boot-up sequence.

The debate was started by AuthenticM who argued the PS1 had the best boot-up sequence. He talked in favor of the console released in 1994, stating, “It’s just so… powerful and entrancing? The first half is just powerful sounds being blasted, not unlike the IMAX sound thing, which signals the player that they are about to experience some real shit, and then it settles into something more comforting and zen.”

Although, there was another legendary console that many fans considered equating with PS1’s boot-up sequence. And this console was Nintendo’s GameCube, released in 2001.

Fans believe GameCube also has a best boot-up sequence
Both PlayStation 1 and GameCube were contenders for the top spot for best boot-up sequences. But fans were more vocal about supporting Nintendo’s GameCube and expressed it thoroughly in the comments (You can read them in the Restra link above).
In conclusion, it is safe to say both GameCube and PlayStation 1 deserve a top spot in the boot-up music order. Some honorable mentions from the fans include consoles like PS2, Game Boy Advance, and Sega Saturn. But it can be boldly stated fans love the legendary consoles’ sequences more as compared to the latest-gen consoles.
