Epic Games is looking to reclaim its throne once again with the upcoming Fortnite season update. Epic Games‘ Fortnite was released in 2017. Since then, this free-to-play game has become one of the most notable releases from the devs. In 2018, Fortnite was on top of the gaming scene with 78 million daily players. As staggering as this number is, it fell quite a lot during Covid. The tumultuous times made Fortnite take a step back and be overshadowed by other releases. Fortnite tournaments were also plagued by cheaters who smeared the community with a negative reputation around the world.

However, Epic Games is focused on turning the tides and getting things rolling once again. With their latest gift to Fortnite players, the devs hinted that the OG Chapter 1 map will be coming back to the game in the next update. Fans speculate a rollercoaster ride ahead as it seems like the upcoming Season will be featuring all the maps that appeared in Chapter 1. This means that all the content that the six seasons had in Chapter 1 will be crammed into one season in Chapter 4.

The OG map understandably brings back a lot of memories for the long-time fans who contributed significantly to the growth of the game in the early days. With that, the community expects to see a resurgence in player numbers in the coming weeks.

The OG map will do away with many features that have been added to Fortnite in recent updates. So expect no sliding to gain that extra speed boost that you’ve been using to catch your enemies off guard.
