September 29 marked the beginning of a new era. Following the end of a 3 decade partnership with FIFA, EA released its own soccer title, EA Sports FC 24. While the concept is the same, the game does have many big changes, like the huge revamp in managerial careers, Evolution cards, and many more. With the major rebranding, gamers were eager to know how different this game would be and how it would perform. Now the question following its release is, how as it fared in its first week?
As far as first week sales go, FC 24 fell behind FIFA 23 by a significant margin. It might be a new era in this soccer simulation series, but still, in some aspects, it may be trailing.

However, this reduction in sales is not going to continue in the long term. Fans will probably need time to settle in. And after the expansion of the game worldwide, the surge in digital sales is surely going to make up for the initial setback.
Meanwhile, FC 24 has topped the chart in sales for this week. As of September 30, it beat some huge titles like Mortal Kombat 1, Hogwarts Legacy, and GTA 5. Despite the other versions falling behind FIFA 23, the Switch version of FC 24 is well and truly leading the charts. There are certain reasons for that, too. FIFA games on the Nintendo Switch generally faced a significant amount of compromise compared to other platforms. But EA is not following that path anymore this year.
The visuals and gameplay of FC 24 on Switch are on par with other platforms. But the unique aspect of the Switch version is that, for the first time, on any EA Sports title, the Frostbite engine will be used.
