“F1 Would Welcome a Legend like Marc Marquez” : Lewis Hamilton

  1. Catalan MotoGP rider and World champion Marc Marquez continues to be praised for his good performance. The Spaniard impressed many in a private test on board a Formula 1 car, including Lewis Hamilton.

The dream was possible for Marc Márquez, courtesy his main sponsor, Red Bull. The Austrian brand gave him the opportunity to pilot the RB8 in the Toro Rosso colours.

The result left a positive impact for him, and surprised half the world. He managed to set very competitive records for his first time aboard a car of this type. The test was carried out on the Austrian energy drinks circuit, the Red Bull Ring.

Former F1 and Red Bull driver Mark Webber, was Marc’s advisor during the test. The Australian former Formula 1 driver guided Marquez at all times. After finishing the tests, Webber admitted that he was surprised by Marquez’ ability to adapt to the car.

Even Dr. Helmut Marko was quite impressed with the Spaniard. In fact, he teased that there was a probability that Marc Márquez could debut in Formula 1 in 2021. For now, their target is the current F1 champion, Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton assured that the Great F1 Circus would receive as a legend to the Catalan pilot.

“To be honest, I never knew that (Marc Márquez) drove cars and that he was interested in doing so. It’s much easier for them to come here, that’s for sure. They can practice and practice. If I had to go riding a bicycle, it is likely that I will break something from the beginning! But it’s exciting, and we would certainly always welcome a legend like him,” said the British driver.

This weekend, Marc Marquez and the rest of the MotoGP paddock are in Catalunya for the Grand Prix. As of the practice sessions, Marquez has struggled and even took a tumble in FP2. But knowing Marc, he will always bounce back stronger than ever.
