During a Twitch stream, McLaren driver Lando Norris found out that the next Virtual F1 race features him in the lineup. However, the British youngster gave no indication that he was participating. So, one could only imagine his disbelief when his fans told that F1 named him in the lineup.

He practically insisted that he never confirmed his participation. He is now worried that he only has one day to practice for the race and is in danger of being woefully underprepared. So, he kept insisting that he won’t race in this weekend’s Virtual F1 GP.

To be perfectly honest, the McLaren driver has been unable to race, after experiencing connectivity issues several times. So, even if he does decide to participate, his internet connection decides if he stays in the online session or drops out.

More often than not, drivers had to contend with Landobot. In other words, when he got booted from the lobby, an AI had to take over in his stead.

While ranting online, he was mad about the fact that everyone expects him to be competitive after getting less than a day’s practice. Meanwhile, other drivers have the luxury of a week to get to grips with the game.

Naturally, the McLaren driver is not looking forward to facing humiliation. Especially since he is underprepared and has had no practice. To make matters worse, Charles Leclerc, Alexander Albon, George Russell, Antonio Giovinazzi and Nicholas Latifi are all racing.

The only bright spot of happiness is that he won his debut virtual IndyCar race. He participated as the 3rd McLaren driver alongside Patricio O’Ward and Oliver Askew. The 20-year old took a lights to flag win, leading a McLaren 1-2 ahead of O’Ward. Meanwhile, Chip Ganassi Racing’s Felix Rosenqvist managed a P3 result despite spinning out of the lead during the closing laps.
