Mercedes have been struggling since the start of the season with their W-13 and even though the recent upgrades seemed to have upped their game, the seven-time champion, Lewis Hamilton believes there still is a lot that needs to be worked on.

Lewis Hamilton and George Russell have been dissatisfied with the performance of the Mercedes W-13, and have been actively giving inputs to bring about a significant change. However, things didn’t get a lot better if we look at the season as a whole. Hamilton states he is looking forward to driving a car that isn’t W-13.

Despite their challenges with the W-13, the two Mercedes men, Lewis Hamilton, and George Russell, have not given up their battle to go after their F1 goals. And even though Russell managed to bag a win last weekend, the car has been hindering the duo nonetheless, resulting in a performance below expectations. Ergo, pushing them to exert a lot more.

A disappointed Lewis Hamilton shared his thoughts in a recent interview with Motorsports. He said, “I definitely wasn’t expecting to see such a big gap. But we’re losing six-tenths on the straight. Brakes, bouncing is probably number one, drag is probably number two,Or equal number one. There’s loads of other things.”

Lewis emphasized that bouncing back from these struggles have rather been a tough thing to do.

He concluded, saying, “I’m looking forward to the end of Tuesday (next week’s Pirelli test), which is the last time I have to drive this thing. And I don’t ever plan to drive this one again. It won’t be one of the cars that I request to have in a contract!”

Mercedes boss, Toto Wolff, had once laughed over the fact that the car is not going to stay memorable.

Mercedes team principal, Toto Wold, reportedly laughed off the matter that the W-13 indeed wasn’t a great car and isn’t going to stick around, for good reason.

He had said, “I don’t think it’s going to have the highest place in the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart. Maybe it’s going to go a little bit in the caves.”

However, this weekend, Wolff shared his disappointment with the car in all seriousness. He said, “We have been able to perform well on the tracks that were in the sweet spot of our DNA of the car and that was mostly high downforce -Mexico and Brazil.”

He continued to agree that the car isn’t a very fast one, in fact, it is pretty ‘draggy’ in nature.
