Back in the day, when Max Verstappen and Daniel Ricciardo were teammates, a young Max Verstappen revealed a restriction he wasn’t too happy about. F1 teams have rules to ensure safety of their drivers to keep their performance level optimized in order to deliver the best for the championships.

Sometimes this involves certain restrictions. And a young enthusiastic, adventurous champion in the making, once expressed his desire to want to jet ski for longer periods of time. However, his home team, Red Bull, was rather against it.

Max Verstappen spoke to the interviewer, who pointed out that Max was seen jet skiing earlier, to which the Dutch Lion said, I wish I could be on the Jet Ski a bit more. They don’t let me in anymore.”

Acknowledging the set of standard restrictions, the interviewer questioned, “People say that drivers shouldn’t go in the water, but you like it?”

The quick-witted Red Bull champion responded, saying, “I was not in the water. I was on top of it.”

The Austrian team cannot risk having their star champion, Max Verstappen, be injured in any possible way. The Dutch Lion, however, has always expressed his desire to want to ride the MotoGP bike and the Austrian team is dead set against it.

In an interview, Max shared, “I’d like to try them. These guys are crazy. The speed they have on a straight line is incredible.”

“But the team won’t give me permission. I could break my leg,” he concluded.

Max Verstappen is one of the most talented drivers in the F1 history. However, being at the top of the game does seem to come at a cost.
