Recently, Daniil Kvyat became the latest person to appear on the F1 Beyond the Grid Podcast. The Russian driver spoke about a variety of subject including his brief stint as a Ferrari simulator driver. He even opened up on his relationship with Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel.
Admittedly, he and Vettel had a bad history because of his infamous ‘Torpedo’ moment. However, Kvyat acknowledged that he learned a lot from watching the two champions and talking to them. He learned about their styles, preferences and other aspects.
His job entailed looking at onboard videos and giving the drivers advice to improve. On one occasion at the Canadian Grand Prix weekend, he advised Vettel to take a little more kerb in the corner. Suffice to say, Vettel did that and it made a huge difference in his performance.
