Imagine if someone the reason for happy tears in their mother’s eyes. All the sacrifices and compromises this secret hero did, are now paying off. Max Verstappen is the champion of the 2022 Formula 1 racing. The year of hard grinding and perseverance have yielded the result. It is surely a merry moment for the whole family. Max Verstappen’s mother is really proud and happy about her son’s achievement.


Sophie Kumpen has indicated in an interview that she was very happy with her son’s second world title. She did not expect it, partly due to the difficult conditions in which the race was or was not going to be held.

Overall, it’s a really nice surprise for the mother. Revealing the happiness, The Belgian mother spoke with HLN. She said,I’m very happy, because I didn’t really expect it. We got up early, but the rain caused uncertainty. That’s why I thought it wouldn’t be for today. We knew that Max would one day take his second world title. But this course was unexpected again.”

The Belgian reflected on how this championship was different from the first one. Moreover, she was yet to have a conversation with her son, post the win. She said, “Max didn’t know at a certain moment whether he was actually world champion.” Verstappen’s mother continued, “I haven’t had him on the phone yet. He is still doing interviews, but he will call. This is certainly very special for us. I admit that the experience is different than with his first world title.”

Appreciation is coming from all around the world for Max Verstappen and the team. The hard grind got what it deserved. Not only family and the fans but Red Bull team boss, Christian Horner, can’t keep his calm in praising the champion.

Seems like Verstappen was really in a hurry this season. With 4 races to spare, he wrapped the year and clinched his second title. Greeting and good wishes and pouring in the Red Bull camp. Horner hailed the hard work of his team and the champion driver. Speaking to Sky Sports F1 after the race, Horner said,It’s beyond all our dreams. Max has been truly, truly dominant [this season]. We came back from some difficulties in the first couple of races, but honestly, he and the team have just raised it to another level.

Horner went on to praise the Red Bull engine supplier, Honda. At the home track of Honda, the Red Bull Boss talked about the Japanese manufacturer’s extended support till 2025. He said, “It’s an amazing thing for Honda to win this here as well. We’re truly grateful for the support that they’ve provided us in previous years and as a supplier this year. They’ve done a great job. All our partners, like ExxonMobil, with this new E10 fuel as well.
