F1 Fans Hail Valtteri Bottas for Mega Qualifying Result Out-Performing Ex Mercedes Teammate Lewis Hamilton

The much anticipated Miami Grand Prix just concluded its Saturday Qualifying. The grid setting for Sunday’s race saw the usual Ferrari and Red Bull fighting each other for the top spot. Meanwhile, Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton came together once again in the grid.

The stakes are high as the city of Miami hosts its first race in its history. As the qualifying saw Charles Leclerc pick up his third pole of the season, Valtteri out-qualified his former teammate in fashion.

The new Alfa Romeo recruit will start tomorrow’s race from P5 as he clocked the much important 1:29.475. Compared to him Lewis finished his flying lap in 1:29.625. The Valtteri vs Lewis has flocked the fans quite a bit off late as the duo ramps up in two different machines for the first time in five years.

Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas were teammates at the Brackley-based team for five long years. Lewis picked up four driver’s championships while the duo helped the Silver Arrows pick up five back-to-back constructors’ championships.

The new season saw Mercedes pick George Russell from Williams to replace the Finland international. As a result, the Finn moved to Alfa Romeo and replaced retirement-bound Kimi Raikkonen. With the new season on the go, Valtteri partnered rookie Chinese driver Guanyu Zhou.

The new season saw Lewis struggle more than he has ever done in the last couple of years. Moreover, Hamilton and Bottas share the P7 and P8 in driver’s standings with 28 and 24 points each. As the inaugural Miami GP saw the old friends come together again, fans expressed their thoughts on social media.
