Alpine had a nightmarish restart at the Singapore Grand Prix, as after Alonso, Ocon’s car gave out too.

Fernando Alonso has had 4 DNFs so far this season. 2 of those have come in the last two races. His teammate Esteban Ocon, on the other hand, has had 2 DNFs, of his own. The double-DNF in Singapore meant that the Alpine had to bow out without adding any points to their tally.

Fernando Alonso was visibly upset after back-to-back DNFs that ruined his 350th Formula One race. He did not shy away from blaming his team for him being 60 points short. He felt that if he did not have reliability issues with the car, he could have been competing with the likes of Mercedes.

Fernando Alonso is set to leave Alpine at the end of this year. With Sebastian Vettel announcing his retirement from Formula One, one seat was left vacant next year at Aston Martin. The 41-year-old Spaniard pounced on the opportunity and decided to leave Alpine.
