Even at the start of the 2023 season, it was evident that Hamilton was not happy with Mercedes. The technical team chose to ignore his warnings to continue with the zero pod design. Although the team has now embraced a new design philosophy, they are 2 years behind in the development timeline for the current ground effect era, and it has led Lewis to part ways with the Brackley-based squad. He will partner Charles Leclerc at the start of 2025. Carlos Sainz, whom the 7-time world champion is set to replace, has spoken up about the whole situation.
