Carlos Sainz has an impressive resume with 2 race wins and multiple pole positions with Ferrari. However, his stats couldn’t get him a contract extension as the 7-time world champion came knocking in for a drive in 2025. Now, the Spaniard needs to find himself a new team for 2025 and he has been linked with the likes of Mercedes and Sauber (soon to become Audi). But can he go back to the team where he raced as a junior driver, Red Bull? His father, Carlos Sainz Sr, was spotted with Christian Horner, Helmut Marko, and Adrian Newey on the first day of pre-season testing. Could they have been talking about Sainz Jr.’s future?

Well, Carlos Sainz has said that he is very clear about his future in a recent statement. According to a tweet from Albert Fabrega, Carlos Sainz said, “Yesterday we were learning about the new car. Yesterday we saw positive things. I’m not surprised by Red Bull. They will start with an advantage and they are the favorites. I hope we have a car that allows us to fight Red Bull, also in the race. I am very clear about my goal in the future.

Carlos Sainz believes he has plenty of options as far as a race seat is concerned for 2025 and he needs to find the best project that will help him achieve his goals in Formula 1.

Carlos Sainz remains calm in analyzing his options for 2025

Carlos Sainz recently acknowledged the significance of his departure from Ferrari, both professionally and emotionally, as he reflected on the strong bonds he has formed within the team and with the Tifosi. But despite Ferrari’s surprising decision to sign Lewis Hamilton for the 2025 season, the Spaniard remains calm and deliberate in considering his next steps. He plans to take his time in evaluating all his options and is in no rush to secure a seat for the 2025 season. He has highlighted the importance of focusing on the present, especially on the pre-season testing and the demanding season ahead.

Sainz remains optimistic about the opportunities ahead as he has been actively approaching various teams and assessing their progress and structures. “I hopefully have plenty of years in my career ahead of me, so let’s see where the future takes me. I am a free agent for 2025 and have no idea where I am going to be racing, so I need to take my time to decide,” Sports Illustrated quoted Sainz.

“All options are available and I’ll try to pick the best option for me, not just for 2025 but what is the best option for the next three or four years that I am giving my absolute best to put together a winning project in F1,” he added.
