The Grand Prix at Marina Bay Street Circuit was a Carlos Sainz masterclass. While he ruled the streets of Singapore, the Spaniard is struggling to keep that momentum going. The Qatar Grand Prix was an off-day for Sainz, as he could not start the race due to a fuel issue with his SF-23. So when the Maranello outfit arrived at the US GP, all eyes were on Sainz’s comeback. But to the Tifosi’s disappointment, Sainz has had a lackluster outing under the Austin sun so far.

Adding to his misery, Ferrari’s Golden Boy, Charles Leclerc, has consistently one-upped the Spaniard so far this weekend. The Monegasque delighted the fans in red with a stellar lap in qualifying that took pole position. Continuing in the opposite direction of his teammate, Leclerc narrowly lost out on a sprint race win to the ever-so-dominant Max Verstappen.

While the Tifosi were ecstatic after Leclerc’s performance, Carlos Sainz turned out to be quite the buzzkill! A tweet highlighted Sainz’s disappointment with the car’s setup in Austin, taking none of the responsibility himself.

It’s not surprising that Ferrari fanatics went wild in the replies, flaming the Spaniard for his mistakes! Looks like he won’t be getting the same treatment from the fans that he did when he was with Lando Norris – the sport’s favorite bromance.

The US GP leaves the Tifosi “Baffled by Carlos” Sainz

“I have never heard this man say yes i messed up yes its my fault yes i didn’t perform. Never. Even lewis a 7-time world champion when he doesnt perform he doesnt hide..im baffled by Carlos.” – A passionate fan held back no punches against Sainz, calling him out for not taking responsibility for a mediocre result.

“And this is exactly how it started back in 2022. When the gap was so great between the two drivers. Binotto listened. Fred will not.” – another observant fan was quick to point out how far behind Sainz was in 2022, when Leclerc trumped Sainz by over 50 points in the Driver’s Standings, in comparison to this year where the Spaniard is leading the Monegasque by a mere 5 points. The user hinted at some favoritism behind the scenes, even calling out ex-Ferrari Boss, Mattia Binotto, who had apparently listened to Sainz’s complaints last year and decided to take his inputs for development.

“Because Charles is way quicker than Carlos even when Carlos had the car to his liking Charles could still beat him” – Another fan seemed to agree, stating that even when the team sets the car up according to Sainz’s inputs, Leclerc still shines through.

“well one side has a P1/P2 combo compared to a P4/P6. Maybe look for mistakes in your driving, @Carlossainz55 ???” – Talk about being direct! This Tifosi member spared no time in calling Sainz out, comparing his P4 in Qualifying and P6 in the Sprint to Leclerc’s pole and sprint race podium. Citing Sainz as the issue, not the SF-23.

“Stop inventing, Carlos” – It’s always the shortest tweets that carry the most weight! In two simple words, the user suggests that Sainz should stop inventing. ‘Inventing what?’ You may ask? The fan fired subtle shots at Sainz to stop coming up with excuses for his performance, of course. Seems like this user has definitely been a Ferrari fan for a while!

While Carlos Sainz is looking forward to bouncing back at the Grand Prix race, one thing is for sure. If Sainz has a poor performance, he better take a page out of Leclerc’s self-critiquing handbook. Or the Tifosi will not be as forgiving as they have been this time!
