Ferrari finished their 2022 constructors’ championship in P2 while their drivers, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, finished in P2 and P5, respectively. As Ferrari once again failed against Red Bull this year and Mercedes earlier, the 2016 F1 Champion reveals what he thinks they lack primarily. Talking to Gazzetta Dello Sport, he stated, “I know that continuity is a value in Formula 1.”
Emphasizing the main team principal issue, the German further conveyed, “I know Mercedes and Red Bull haven’t changed most of the key people for ten years or more. And that’s what Ferrari lacks. That [of team principal] is one of the most difficult jobs in the world.”
As Mattia Binotto exited from Ferrari already, finding his replacement will also be tough for the Maranello-based team, Rosberg feels. “It will be tough for Ferrari. Because it’s not like there are many people up to it, on the market,” said the former Mercedes man in a report published by Formula Passion. [Translated from Italian]
Who can replace Mattia Binotto despite that being the weakest link?
