Over the years, Red Bull has been all about their number 1 driver. Just look at this season’s example. Max Verstappen is leading Red Bull to a constructors’ title along with his driver’s title. Verstappen’s points alone are enough to beat the other teams behind Red Bull. Ferrari seems to have taken a page out of Red Bull’s book as they come up with the Charles Leclerc-centric plans. However, this may lead to Carlos Sainz getting the boot in favor of a former Red Bull Star. Who is this star? What is Ferrari thinking?

The F1 feed has been full of Charles Leclerc contract rumors. However, Ferrari is pretty sure about keeping Charles Leclerc around as rumors of the Scuderia developing future cars around the Monegasque have been floating in the paddock. Carlos Sainz, on the other hand, might also want to move to a team where he can establish his authority as the number one driver and have a chance to win the title.

Corriere dello Sport suggests that Sainz’s ambition to win the championship and Ferrari’s rumored decision to make the team Leclerc-centric might lead to the departure of Sainz from Ferrari after the 2024 season. Amid all this, rumors of Frederic Vasseur contacting Alex Albon for a 2025 Ferrari seat have also come up. Coincidentally, Albon’s Williams contract ends the same year as Sainz’s contract with Ferrari.

According to FormulaPassion.it, Corriere dello Sport advised, “However, the irreconcilability between the sacrosanct ambition of Carlitos to become world champion and the decisive intention of Ferrari to become Leclerc-centric is rising overwhelmingly afloat. And now filter unchecked rumors that Vasseur hooked Alex Albon for having him in the red from 2025, to carry points and turn his back on Charles.” [Translated Via Google]

We saw during the Austrian GP where Carlos Sainz was faster but was asked to stay behind Charles Leclerc for the team’s benefit but then was let down by the team with a slow pitstop while double stacking. Alex Albon, on the other hand, has been shining bright in the last couple of races.

It all started in Canada when Alex Albon and Williams made the Brilliant call in Q2 and sent the Thai driver out on Slick tires on an ever-changing track and got the arguably slowest Williams in Q3. Then came the main race where Alex Albon defended like a lion and held a train of cars behind him to finish P7 and get home to the much-needed points.

The Austrian GP wasn’t that great, but Albon again made it to Q3, this time not because of strategy but because of his pure pace. The Former Red Bull driver finished P11 in the Main race and even showed great pace in the Sprint race.
