However, if Scuderia Ferrari decide to part ways with Vettel, rumour has it that they are eyeing Renault driver Daniel Ricciardo. The Brazilian former Formula 1 driver also put in his two bits on the speculations.

Speaking to Corriere Dello Sport, Massa said, “I wouldn’t change anything about this lineup if I were Mattia Binotto. Sebastian has won four world titles and Leclerc has enormous potential, which should not be underestimated.”

Admittedly, Vettel’s contract lasts until 2020, so it’s a race between himself and any potential candidates for the Ferrari seat. If Vettel chooses not to renew his contract, team boss Mattia Binotto has to seek a replacement.

For this reason, Felipe Massa believes that Ricciardo is the best candidate. “I would go for him. He’s very strong and very entertaining to see on the track.”

However, in the future, what if Scuderia Ferrari wanted a star-studded line-up?

Admittedly, a switch to Scuderia Ferrari is out of question for Lewis Hamilton. However it does not stop Massa from secretly hoping that that it will happen after all. He confessed, “That would be a dream. However, Hamilton could get in the way of Charles’ growth and possibly mentally demolish him. It could turn out wrong.”

The Brazilian veteran was competing the 2019-20 Formula E championship, but like every sport, that too has been halted. Sadly, most if not all sports have been halted while the coronavirus pandemic wreaks havoc. Even Formula One has been affected, with several races postponed or cancelled.
