Daniel Ricciardo completed his last race this past weekend with McLaren at the Abu Dhabi Was Marina Circuit. The entire race was an overtly emotional one for The Honey Badger fans all over the world.

The Aussie was in tears whilst he stationed his car after his last race. This had all F1 fans sobbing. Lando Norris and Daniel’s pit crew bid him farewell with incredibly heartwarming messages.

As fans had just about started to recover from this F1 loss, Daniel took to his Twitter and updated his profile; an update that none of his fans were ready for. They were incredibly sad and didn’t quite know how to process this change, even though it has be a long time coming.

Daniel Ricciardo recently removed “F1 driver” from his intro on Instagram and fans are torn. Coming to terms with Ricciardo not being on the grid was a hard thing to do for many, and watching him update his status that erases his existence as an F1 driver made it way too real for most.

Watching Daniel Ricciardo leave the grid is still difficult for so many. Even though the Honey Badger returns to F1 next year as Red Bull’s reserve driver, things wouldn’t be the same. The Aussie fans sincerely hope that Ricciardo finds his way back to track in the next few years.
